The #SoundofRum ‘Spirit Up’ presented by Bacardi and Major Lazer has arrived with an island vibe and just in time for summer! Island vibrations kicked in the moment we stepped onto the sands of Bacardi Bay at Virginia Key Park. With a tropical breeze, the aroma of island dishes from island-inspired pop-up restaurants from across the globe, cocktails, and the sounds of reggae, dancehall, soca, hip-hop, and electronic music…the #SoundofRum at Bacardi Bay made up the perfect island on a perfect day.
The unique set-up at each island-inspired pop-up restaurant were skillfully created and delivered tasty island dishes, signature drinks that included the limited edition, Bacardi Major Lazer Rum and island sounds. The pop-up restaurants featured included, Pearl’s – New York-based Trinidadian restaurant, Truck Stop – Susies Bakery in Jamaica, Chef Creole – Miami-based Haitian restaurant, and La Factoria – San Juan bar/restaurant favorite.
As we indulged on delicious island dishes throughout the evening at each of these pop-up restaurants, we grooved and enjoyed the sounds coming from them. With all the music playing around us, what we found so amazing, was that at any of the pop-up restaurants we experienced, all we could hear was the music that was being played at each one. This was a plus, because we were being transported to not just one but four different islands and intimately enjoying what each one had to offer.
Although we wished the night would never end, it did, but not before an incredible live sound system performance by Major Lazer as they premiered their latest summer tracks and debuted their Limited Edition Rum.
#SoundofRum is the summer event that gives and gives! So get ready and stay tuned Miami! BACARDÍ and Major Lazer’s Sound of Rum will continue throughout the summer with a slate of dynamic events and multimedia experiences.
