Broadway in Miami presented by Bank of America brings us the Blue Man Group at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Downtown Miami. This riveting performance engages the audience like no other performance does. It is a loud and colorfully vibrant display of the theater arts for all ages. The group crawls through the audience, runs up and down the aisles, brings un-expecting audience members on stage, and calls out the show’s late-comers. The show is a spectacle you have to experience.
Founded by Chris Wink, Matt Goldman, and Phil Stanton in 1987, Blue Man Group has evolved into a worldwide phenomenon. The organization is well known for its theatrics, comedy, experimental music, multimedia use, and technological combinations that create a form of entertainment that enchants the audience.
The humanoid characters are played by actor/musicians that are covered in blue makeup and wear matching costumes. These musical geniuses play music from objects such as PVC pipes, buckets, sticks, and gigantic musical balls. They are compelling artists that create pieces of artwork using paintballs, marshmallows, and human bodies on canvases. They are also party rockers blasting streamers and confetti throughout the theater while letting loose a dozen enormous color-changing balls amongst the audience to toss around like beach balls during a beach party.
Experience Blue Man Group for a limited time only at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami-Dade County from May 13 – 18, 2014. For an even more interactive experience, get your tickets in the first three rows called the “Poncho Section” and take some of the show home with you!
