We sampled finger-licking items that incorporated their massive selection of beers, right into their dishes. An instant favorite was their introduction of their Wynwood Brewery “Pops” Porter Braised Short Rib with a side drink of Wynwood Brewery “Pops” Porter that complemented it down to the bone. Cirque du Soleil: Amaluna

FullSizeRender-2Amaluna displays the female power through its own name translating to Moon Love. This astonishing, unique, and untraditional Cirque du Soleil show surrounds itself and immerses its audience in the powerfulness of the female ability, strength, power, and love.

Typically comprised of a majority of men, Cirque du Soleil reverses the roles for Amaluna. About 70-percent of Amaluna’s cast, performers, and singers are women and deviates from the norm with a beautiful and unexpected twist. The show has provided empowerment to women to tear down barriers and exemplify the beautiful and the artistic form of the female body.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker, known for the explicit language and dark humor that parodies a wide range of topics and current events, brings the religious satire musical of two young Mormon missionaries that have been assigned to a small village in Uganda, Africa. IMG_0142 2Art Basel Week 2014 kicked off in fashion with “Salute to Magic City’s Cultural Champions” Reception and Luncheon at the beautiful Conrad Miami’s Atrio Restaurant & Wine Room with the host committee of Dr. Carol Damian, Lilia Garcia, Virginia Miller, George T. Neary, Dennis Scholl, and Monty Trainer.

Tropical signature cocktails along with tasty bites were enjoyed as guest mixed and mingled during the reception. 2014 John Offerdahl’s Gridiron Grill-Off

Screen-Shot-2014-11-19-at-10.26.50-AMMiami Dolphin football fans from across South Florida rallied and gave an entire new meaning to tailgating at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater for the 2014 John Offerdahl’s Gridiron Grill-Off Food, Wine, & Tailgate Festival! This is an event where celebrities, competition, and charity collided. The entire event’s proceeds went to benefit Offerdahl’s Hand-Off Foundation that focuses on feeding the needs of kids in crisis. The Hand-Off Foundation’s beneficiaries for 2014 included 4KIDS of South Florida, HOPE South Florida, Here’s Help, Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, the Miami Dolphins Foundation, and the Taste of the NFL.

Chef Allen’s VIP Culinary Exhibition kicked off the festival, which informed audience members on techniques, specialty dishes, and sustainable seafood. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey® Tailgate Zone offered an array of drinks that only (more…)

2015 Florida Renaissance Festival Casting Calls & Auditions

The Florida Renaissance Festival will be holding open casting calls and auditions for the 2015 Florida Renaissance Festival in Deerfield Beach on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 3pm – 8pm by appointment only, and open call auditions on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from Noon – 4pm. Prepare a one to two-minute classical monologue and a one to two-minute contrasting contemporary monologue or 16 bars of a classical or contemporary styled song to sing a Capella. Be prepared for some improvisational exercises and readings as well. Actors must have weekend availability and flexible schedules. Only actors 16 or older will be considered without a parent accompanying them.

Appointments are required. Walk-ins will be seen as time permits. Auditionees must provide full name, a headshot and resume, and current contact (more…)

“From Italy with Love” Starring Francesco Zonin

FullSizeRender-4Francesco Zonin, Vice President of Casa Vinicola Zonin S.p.A and widely known for his delicious Zonin branded Prosecco, starred on the TV show, “From Italy with Love” that airs on the Cooking Channel. The show featured three American contestants who were given the opportunity to travel to beautiful Italy’s Venice and Tuscany for a chance to start their own business in the United States along with a $10,000 prize.

The three contestants competed in several wine and food competitions, learned how to live, dress, communicate, and cook like an Italian. The imaginative culinary experience was judged by no one other than Francesco Zonin himself who considered everything made from taste and presentation, to décor and technique. Some of the dishes prepared were accompanied by some of Francesco’s very own Prosecco and Castello D’Albola 2010 Chianti Classico. (more…)

South Florida Tequila Festival!

IMG_3327The South Florida Tequila Festival welcomed lovers and enthusiasts from all over to experience its first ever annual celebration! The festival was held at Fort Lauderdale’s Stache 1920’s Drinking Den. Created to educate, savor, and showcase the famous Mexican spirit, the festival honored 19 different tequila brands in over 40 expressions.

Event-goers were afforded the opportunity to speak with brand representatives and learn about the many different processes of growing and harvesting the agave plant by each company. Throughout two stories of Stache 1920’s Drinking Den, brand ambassadors also shared reasons why they believed they are the best tequila manufacturer on the market.

As an official event of the Florida Day of the Dead festival, the South Florida Tequila Festival featured shots and cocktail samples of popular brands like Jose Cuervo, 1800, Patron, and an array of many other brands that included Maestro Dobel, Blue (more…)

Rodgers + Hamerstein Cinderella!

The Tony Award – winning Broadway musical from the creators of The Sound of Music and South Pacific enchanted audience members who grew up on the classical Walt Disney animated motion picture. Signature Grand and 2-1-1 Broward 13th Annual Signature Grand Ghoul

IMG_3172The Signature Grand Hotel in Davie was once again proud to host the 13th annual “Signature Grand Ghoul” event benefiting 2-1-1 Broward, which is a nonprofit organization that provides a 24-hour comprehensive helpline, and support services to families and individuals in search of crisis intervention assistance or information on referrals to health and human services throughout the Broward County area.

The event took place at South Beach’s luxurious Ritz-Carlton on Miami Beach. It was a Latin Star-Studded evening of performers and songwriters nominated in the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame that featured some of the greatest Latin performers of all-time like Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Alejandro Sanz, David Bisbal, Diego Torres, Omar Alfanno, Ednita Nazario, Luis Enrique, Natalia Jimenez, Erika Ender, Angel Lopez, De La Torre, Desmond Child, and R&B singer Miguel just to name a few. Fourth Annual Gala of Hope: Cure Spinal Muscular Atrophy

The Gala of Hope to Cure Spinal Muscular Atrophy is an annual campaign that benefits the Families of SMA’s mission to find a cure for the leading genetic cause of death of children under the age of two. The disease destroys the nerves that control voluntary movements and decreases the ability to walk, swallow, and control the movements of the head and neck. Fiorenna Israel-Fuentes and Jennifer Miller-Smith, two mothers with daughters suffering from SMA, founded the Gala of Hope to honor their daughters’ fight for survival. The outstanding work of Families of SMA has contributed to major discoveries that include the identification of the underlying cause of SMA. (more…)

This wonderful event’s mission is to provide courage, hope, self-confidence, and resources to kids considering suicide, or struggling against the life-long damaging effects on self-esteem and character caused by others’ actions or words.

The worldwide bullying epidemic has become Quinton’s mission. The Quinton Aaron Foundation was established to achieve their goal of ending bullying once and for all. Quinton Aaron will honor two of the bravest people that he’s ever met Rebecca Zerbo, the founder of Positive Pocket, and Jaylen Arnold the founder of Jaylen’s Challenge. Also, join Quinton as he shares some of his personal experiences dealing with first-hand struggles of obesity, and bullying.

Woodystock 2014

Screen Shot 2014-09-14 at 8.00.25 PMThe CFH Group and the Woody Foundation are proud to announce, and are set to kick off the 2nd Annual Woodystock benefit concert! Woodystock is a grassroots free benefit concert for music and art lovers, and created to raise money for the recovery of people with spinal cord injuries. The name of the event and foundation is in honor of James “Woody” Beckham, who suffered his spinal cord injury while making a rugby tackle in January 2011.

Proceeds of Woodystock will benefit The Woody Foundation. The main initiative of the foundation is the Woody Pack backpacks. The Woody Pack is a free collection of assistive devices for those who have suffered a spinal cord injury, or are living with paralysis. The backpacks were put together to assist in regaining a sense of independence. The devices included within the Woody Packs helps improve everyday living with items that aid in simple tasks like eating or talking on the phone that are not otherwise covered by insurance. (more…)

2015 Florida Renaissance Festival: Calling all actors and singers!

2015-LogoBobby Rodriguez Productions is seeking fresh talent for next year’s 2015 Florida Renaissance Festival taking place in Deerfield Beach’s Quiet Waters Park on weekends from February 7 – March 15, 2015. Casting calls and auditions are for the festival’s “Apprenticeship Program.” Workshops will be conducted throughout seven Sundays starting in September, and will go through every-other week until the end of December.

To audition, you must prepare a one to two-minute classical monologue, and a one to two-minute contrasting contemporary monologue. Singers must prepare 32 bars of a classical, or contemporary styled song to sing A cappella. (more…)
