After Game 1’s “CrampGate,” Lebron James remained hydrated in the days leading up to Game 2. James started the 1st quarter of the game with only 2 points which had many thinking he was going to be ineffective because of the cramping injuries sustained in Game 1. James then exploded for 33 points throughout the remainder of the game and left any doubts people had about him behind them. James finished the game with 35 points and 10 rebounds in a comeback win for the Miami Heat to even up the series at one apiece heading back to Miami for Games 3 and 4. “What happened on Thursday was Thursday. My whole focus was how I was going to try to help this team even this up and just try to make some plays,” James said during his post-game interview. (more…)

Alright, let’s get this one out of the way and put behind us. Miami lost Game 1 of the NBA Finals vs the San Antonio Spurs 95-110 in a fourth quarter meltdown. But not before the AT&T Center meltdown of the arena’s air condition system that had thousands of fans fanning themselves for some sort of ventilation. The on-court temperature reached the 90s for the players on the court. I’ve read all the stupid comments across social media and the news about how Lebron James couldn’t take the heat (no pun intended) which caused his legs to cramp up and force him to sit for the remainder of the game with four minutes left. Some of the comments were funny and sometimes you can’t help but laugh because they are humorous, but when you hear a moron say that Michael Jordan played with the flu in a finals game and compare that to leg cramps, then you’ve earned the moron title. When we crave Peruvian food, we head out on an adventure to find local restaurants that will offer to fix our craving. This time around, we found a fairly new restaurant inside of the 108th street and Pines Boulevard’s south side shopping center. Since we frequent the area, we noticed the place one day and made it a point to stop in to try them out. We’ve visited several Peruvian restaurants in the past, so our taste buds are pretty-well versed in this arena. The place is not that big, but comfortable. Seats a maximum of approximately 50 people. Small, but not cramped. It is your typical mom and pop restaurant. (more…)

The Miami Heat made NBA history on Friday with their thrashing of the Indiana Pacers and closing out the series 4-2 on a 117-92 victory. The Heat have joined the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers as the third team to make four consecutive NBA Finals appearances. “I’m blessed. Very blessed. Very humbled, and we don’t take this opportunity for granted,” Lebron James said after being crowned an Eastern Conference Champion for the fifth time in his career. Four of them with the Miami Heat. “It’s an unbelievable franchise. It’s an unbelievable group, and we know we still have work to do. But we don’t take this for granted. We’re going to four straight Finals and we will never take this granted,” James finished. The Miami Heat are going into the NBA Finals as back-to-back NBA Champions and plan to come out as back-to-back-to-back NBA Champions. (more…)
In its largest ever acquisition and biggest move since the death of Steve Jobs, Apple CEO Tim Cook finalizes the Beats Electronics deal. The purchase was broken down into $2.6 billion in cash and $400 million through 650,000 shares of Apple stock. The deal came as a shock to many industry analysts that are questioning Apple’s move to make such a big purchase on an already established company instead of developing their own products. Apple has established a culture unmatched by any technology company. With the acquisition of Beats, Apple has expanded that culture into a whole new realm. Beats comes with its own culture that is endorsed by a mob of celebrities and professional athletes who have their own fans. It’s a chain reaction. Apple knew what it was doing. That’s what this deal was about. Grasping a whole new demographic. (more…)
In a completely disastrous display of officiating in Game 5 of these Eastern Conference Finals, the Indiana Pacers have moved to 3-2 in this series thanks to the officiating crew in a 93-90 win over the Heat. I’d really hate to think that the officials purposely took Lebron James out of the majority of the game by placing him in foul trouble so that the Pacers can have a chance at making this a series, but this was too blatantly obvious. I guess if you cry like Paul George did and get fined $25,000 for complaining about the refs not giving him calls in Game 4, it’s well worth the fee right? After what the NBA went through a few years ago with the Tim Donaghy scandal and the FBI investigations revealing inside memos sent from the NBA to officials prior to games, this theory seems pretty substantiated. Don’t cry for this masterfully re-imagined version of Evita brought to us by Broadway in Miami and presented by Bank of America and the Florida Theatrical Association at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. This beautiful classic revived by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice tells the story of the rise and fall of Eva Peron, the Argentinian political leader and second wife of President Juan Peron. Eva Peron rose from the purlieus of Argentina to become one of the most powerful women in the world, only to succumb to her own health. Upon receipt of our arrangement, the first notable impression was the presentation. The first word that came to mind was pristine. The attention to detail alone was enough to leave us salivating. The arrangement comes enfolded in clear plastic where you can actually see condensation formed inside proving that the arrangement is fresh and made to order.
A piece of edible artwork was revealed as we untied the wrapping. The vase in which the Fruit Flowers were arranged in was an oversized ceramic chocolate-covered strawberry mug. (more…)
As the saying goes, “the series doesn’t start until the hometeam loses.” Well, the Eastern Conference Finals have begun Miami Heat fans! It was not the prettiest game, but our Miami Heat have stolen homecourt advantage from the Indiana Pacers in a grueling 87-83 victory Tuesday night. “It’s not going to be pretty. Not in the Eastern Conference. It’s never pretty basketball in the Eastern Conference. It’s about who can sustain runs. You know, who can get defensive stops? Who can not turn the ball over, and who can get great shots? I think we did that in the fourth,” Lebron James said after the game. (more…)

Time to regroup Miami. Not time to panic. The Heat lost to the Indiana Pacers 96-107 in Indiana and for only the second time in 10 games in this post-season. Seemed like everything went in the Pacers direction in Game 1. They hit 52% of their shots and went 8 of 19 on their 3-pointers. The biggest and most notable disparity in this game was free throws for the Pacers. The Pacers seemed to get every call when they wanted it. They went to the line a whopping 37 times compared to the Heat’s 15. (more…)
For the second straight year, Ray Allen of the Miami Heat let Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett know why he decided to leave the Boston Celtics. This time around, it was at their expense. The Miami Heat eliminated the Brooklyn Nets out of playoffs in a 96 – 94 victory Wednesday night. Now, for the fourth straight year, the Miami Heat advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Heat were down by 8 points in the fourth quarter with less than three minutes left before they clamped down the Nets on defense. Riding a 12-0 run that included a huge 3 pointer from Ray Allen to give them the lead, the Heat never looked back. (more…)
Broadway in Miami presented by Bank of America brings us the Blue Man Group at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Downtown Miami. Lebron James was standing at the free throw line ready to shoot 2 after being fouled with seconds left on the clock. He shoots and swishes it through for his 49th point of the evening. He breathes, dribbles, shoots, and misses his oportunity to have his first 50 point game of his playoff career. “That’s the first time I’ve been disappointed in myself in a win,” James stated after the game. Don’t worry Lebron, there will be many more opportunities. With 49 points on the night, James matched his previous career playoff high and the Heat walked away from the Barclays Center with a 3-1 lead in these Eastern Conference Semi-Finals in a 102-96 grueling victory. Miami is two wins away from heading back into the Eastern Conference Finals for the fourth year in a row. In this game, the Heat started off slow and could not find a rhythm to get consistent shots to fall in the first quarter. After 12 minutes of play in the first quarter, the Heat were down 15-21. Then, they found their shot and the Heat never lost a quarter after that. They went off in the second quarter for 30 points to go into the half down only 45-46. The Heat won the subsequent quarters and also limited the Nets to 15 points in the fourth. (more…)
Miami Heat fans already know this. The post-season is a completely different ball-game. So much for the Brooklyn Nets sweeping the Miami Heat series during the regular season. That really didn’t resonate much as the Heat smoked the Nets 107-86 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semi Finals. “It’s one. But I liked the energy, the activity,” Heat Coach Erik Spoelstra stated after the game. After a week since sweeping the Charlotte Bobcats out of the first round, our Miami Heat showed no signs of being out of tune. So far, the Miami Heat are the only undefeated team in this year’s playoffs. (more…)

The battle continues between the Toronto Raptors and the Brooklyn Nets who are in line to take a shot at the Heat. Miami closed out the Charlotte Bobcats in four games and remains the only undefeated team in the playoffs. This year’s first round of the NBA Playoffs has been one of the most exciting to watch if you are following all the teams and getting in your 40 games in 40 nights. Thrillers all over, from the San Antonio Spurs / Dallas Mavericks series, to the Memphis Grizzlies / Oklahoma City Thunder series, to the Los Angeles Clippers / Golden State Warriors series; this year’s first round playoffs has been thrilling! The Heat took down the Bobcats in a 98-85 win Saturday evening to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Quarter Finals. “We were locked in on what needs to be done and our keys to win this game,” Lebron James stated after the game. James finished the night on 10-18 shooting with 30 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. (more…)
This was a hard fought battle for the Charlotte Bobcats seeking to steal a win on the Miami Heat’s home court. Sorry Bobcats, that wasn’t happening in Game 2 of these Eastern Conference Quarter Finals. The series shifts back to Charlotte on Saturday, April 26 at 7pm on ESPN and the Sun Sports Network. The Heat gave up two big leads throughout the game before claiming the win 101-97. “We can play better basketball. We haven’t played our best basketball,” Lebron James stated after the game. (more…)
The Miami Heat took a 1-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Quarter Finals against the Charlotte Bobcats Sunday as the Heat begins to warm up. The Heat were down by four points at the end of the 1st Quarter before going off in the in the 2nd with 30 points and taking the lead into halftime. The Miami Heat never looked back from there. It was a relatively close game throughout and the Bobcats did manage to remain in the game through four quarters, but it just wasn’t enough to beat the Heat. The Bobcats lost to the Heat by a score of 88-99. (more…)
Hello fellow Miami Heat fans! We are back with our third consecutive year of Miami Heat playoffs coverage. Let’s wrap up the season real quick. Our Miami Heat finished the season with a respectable 54-28 record to come in second place behind the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference, and tied for fifth place overall with the Portland Trailblazers and Houston Rockets.
The Heat have guaranteed themselves homecourt advantage through at least the first two rounds of the Eastern Conference Playoffs granted the Indiana Pacers make it to the East Finals. As the Miami Heat open their 3-peat bid, I strongly believe they have played the season extremely intelligent. (more…)

I absolutely love Asian food, so any chance I get I’m trying to create something with an Asian inspiration to it. I love general tso chicken, but my diet does not. Why not make something with similar flavor, but healthier? You can serve this up like I did with Jasmine Rice, but if you are just about to reach your calorie limit or need a quick snack, why not some lettuce wraps? I sometimes use cabbage because it holds up better. Something a dear friend taught me.
Ingredients you will need (Serves 4):
1/4 cup of 99% Fat Free Chicken Broth
1 tbsp of less sodium soy sauce
1 1/2 tbsp of Tomato Paste
1 tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar (you may also use rice vinegar)
1 tsp of Hoisin Sauce
1 tsp of Sesame Oil
1 tsp of Siracha Hot Sauce (You may add more if you like it spicier) (more…)
How many of us thought 1 & 2, 0 & 3, maybe 2 & 1? How about two wins on the road; and the stunner, winning from behind in the home opener — 3 & 0?!?
Also to mention, two of those wins were against premier playoff contenders with two ELITE Quarterbacks. DOLFANS, these aren’t your daddy’s Miami Dolphins. They aren’t special, there are no curses. “Right Now” and moving forward, they are “LEGIT”!!
For once in a LONG TIME, these Fins are win for win with the Patriots. For once in a LONG TIME, these Fins are winning from behind. For once in a LONG TIME these Fins are averaging 25 points a game. (more…)

We recently attended The Stage Miami and experienced a musical sensation with a duo that calls themselves Black Violin!
This dynamic duo are two classically trained string instrumentalists that shut it down with an amazing performance that blends classical and hip-hop music into one to bring the audience an experience unheard of.

Being Cuban and living in Miami, I do not want to give up my Cuban food so easily. Finding a balance is what it is all about. To make a healthier version of our famous Cuban picadillo, I swapped out regular ground beef for ground turkey. The result is just as amazing.
What you will need:
– 1 lb (16 oz) of ground turkey (I used 85 lean/15 fat from Aldi Supermarket)
– 1 cup (8 oz) no salt tomato sauce (I used the Publix brand)
– 4 tbsp of dry golden cooking wine

– 3 tsp of minced garlic (equivalent of 3 garlic cloves)

Well Heat Fans, how about another round of applause for YOUR Miami Heat! Let’s talk about the NBA off-season and Free Agency. The BIG catch landed in Houston, CP3 returned to “Lob City”, and the Top Tier players either went back to their original starting point of their careers, or took the low road for their “Pay Day”.
So who won in Free Agency — We’ve all seen the Vegas odds, it’s been none stop buzzing since last week, we’ve seen and heard the reaction from around the league. Here’s who, the team that looks good on paper, that’s who? For the last 3-5 years we’ve grown accustom to that phrase.
Last year’s paper champion “The Lakers;” one and done in round ONE and it wasn’t even close. I’m not Laker hating, this is just a fact. So, who’s the “Paper Champ” this year? (more…)

The title is a three part story of the Days Long Gone, to Current Events that has shaped South Florida sports for the last 40 years. Let’s reflect once again back to the 70’s…. The roar of the crowd within the Orange Bowl, the remarkable 17-0 undefeated season and Back-to-Back Championships by our beloved Dolphins, led by Shula, Griese, Morrall, Csonka and the No-Name Defense. A winning culture was born and rooted deeply within the hearts of South Floridians.
A story book beginning, with a fairy tale journey that has taken South Florida on the longest roller-coaster ride leaving the faithful hanging on year after year, from disappointment to disappointment, hoping, wishing, praying, some might even go as far as knocking on the door of the Voodoo Bones Lady asking for help! What happened to the “Fun in the Sun?” Where has that roar of the crowd disappeared to? (more…)
MIAMI! We have done it again! Our Miami Heat have “Re-Heat-ed” as consecutive NBA Champions of the NBA for two consecutive years. (more…)
Miami Heat fans! We all came through when our team needed it the most with our “DEFENSE” and “LET’S GO HEAT” chants! This is a series that will go down in the history books! From 3-point records broken by San Antonio’s Danny Green, to a triple double of 30+ point, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds in a Finals game by our very own Lebron James!
A feat that has not been done in over 30+ years! This series has come down to one game. This one game will decide a champion! The tenacity this Miami Heat team exemplified all season and through the playoffs, has shown the world what this team has that the Spurs do not; a will to come through when backs are against walls! (more…)
“It’s time. Enough is Enough.”
Here we go Miami! The Miami Heat vs the San Antonio Spurs NBA Finals has been tied up at two games apiece as the Heat seek to bring a 3-2 series lead back to Miami on Sunday when these two powerhouse teams go at it again for Game 5 in San Antonio!
It has been a rollercoaster series for these two teams where we have seen superstars shut out of their roles and role players step up huge to help win games.
This series will become one for the ages. We saw homecourt advantage taken away from the Heat with a San Antonio Game 1 win, and a bounce back win for the Heat that took the series to San Antonio for Game 3, 4, and 5.
A blowout win ensued in Game 3 that left the Miami Heat and fans questioning the abilities of the Heat’s Big 3 in Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh who have been having less than mediocre in these Finals. (more…)
Statement? No. Experience, perseverance, and utter dominance? Yes! Our Miami Heat are once again the Eastern Conference Finals Champions for the third straight year since the Big 3 came together. The 99-76 Game 7 blowout win against the Indiana Pacers re-established what the Heat were designed to do. Come through in BIG GAMES. There’s no need to get into stat lines, only that the players that were supposed to show up, showed up, and showed up BIG. Lebron James continued to be who he is, the Greatest Player on the Planet. Dwyane Wade got it going early in the first quarter and developed confidence in his shot again to finish with 21-points. (more…)
This seems like kind of a familiar setting. The Miami Heat in a Game 7, winner takes it all to the NBA Finals. Rewind. Last year, Miami Heat vs the Boston Celtics. Game 7. That picture of that look in Lebron James’ eyes that went viral. This is what’s to come Monday vs these Pacers. Lebron and his relentless stare into the eyes of what stands before him and his path to another NBA Championship. “This is where your brotherhood gets strengthened,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. With both Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh struggling to find themselves in this series, Lebron has carried his teammates. “Those guys are professionals, as championships, we’ll figure it out,” Lebron said. (more…)
Yes Lebron, one more win will take you to the NBA Finals for the third consecutive year. Just one more win. Testy attitudes, pushes, and shoves set the tone early on in this game. At halftime, our Heat were down 40-44 and the game was looking much like the previous losses against these Pacers. Then came the third quarter and some guy named Lebron James who just had it. Lebron went on the score 16 of his game-high 30-points in the third quarter which fueled a rally of 30 total points combined in the quarter with the rest of the Heat. The Heat managed to hold down the Pacers to a measley 13-points in the third. The fourth quarter was fairly even with both teams pretty much going point-for-point, but the third quarter rally was too much for these Pacers to recover from. Udonis Haslem came up big for the Heat who contributed 16-points and went 8-9 from the field. Dwyane Wade continues to struggle because of a bad knee aggravated earlier in the playoffs and went 3-8 in Game 5 for only 10-points, but added 6 rebounds, 4 assist, and 1 steal. (more…)
The series has been all tied up Heat fans. The Heat went on to win Game 1 103-102 on a buzzer beater by Lebron James on an uncanny move by Indiana Pacers coach Frank Vogel leaving Roy Hibbert out of the last play of the game. The move was largely scrutinized around the league and the NBA world. The Miami Heat has had their homecourt advantage taken away from them twice in this year’s playoffs only to regain it back with authority. The Pacers went on to steal homecourt advantage from the Miami Heat in Game 2 with a win of 97-93 that left the Miami Heat fuming on the way up to Indiana. Game 3 turned into an embarrassment for the Pacers, who lost Game 3, 114-96. (more…)

So much for the Chicago Bulls winning Game 1 in Miami, right? The Miami Heat won four in a row since, and have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals for the third straight year. The Miami Heat look to either face the New York Knicks or the Indiana Pacers in the next series. I was predicting an MIA vs NY Eastern Conference Finals, but it seems as if NY will not be playing much longer as the Pacers have taken a commanding 3-1 lead on them. Last night, the Miami Heat got off to a fast start that saw them go 18-4 in the first quarter to set the game’s tone. But, the Chicago Bulls did not want to go out without at least putting up a good fight. The Bulls took command of the game and led through three straight quarters into the 4th. The Heat then turned it on and took out the Bulls in a 94-91 thriller to move on to the next round. (more…)
These Semi-Conference Finals seem to be getting more and more physical as the games are played. The only difference is, the Miami Heat are not having it. The Chicago Bulls continue to wear themselves down after their Game 1 victory with their excessive physical play against the reigning world champs. The Miami Heat continue to keep their cool and do what they do best, play the game of basketball and focus on the win. The Miami Heat have regained home court advantage in this series and look to take a 3-1 lead back to Miami on Monday when these two team get back at it for Game 4. It was a close game throughout all quarters until the Miami Heat went for the kill that would’ve left a Spanish Bullfighter in awe. Tempers were flaring from the start of the game with pushing and shoving from Nate Robinson, Chris “Birdman” Andersen, Joakim Noah, Nazr Mohammed, and Lebron James. Ultimately, Nazr lost his cool on a play with Lebron that resulted in an unexpected shove that called for an immediate ejection. Lebron James didn’t shoot the ball quite well in Game 3 going 6-17 because of the physicality of the game but went perfect from the free-throw line on 11-11 shooting. (more…)
Miami Heat fans, now this is what happens to the opposing team that beats the Heat in Game 1 and gets cocky about it, they get destroyed! The Miami Heat killed the Chicago Bulls in Game 2 and showed them who are the defending NBA Champions! The game was filled with emotion and testy attitudes that featured nine technical fouls, two players ejected, and a multitude of personal fouls that lead the Miami Heat to the free throw line 29 times while converting 22 of them into points. It really didn’t help the Bulls do anything but get flipped off by an angry Heat fan. Our bench contributed 55-points where 21 of them came from Ray Allen and 18 from Norris Cole. (more…)
Well Miami Heat fans, that’s what happens sometimes when you sweep a series and your next opponent’s series goes 7 games, you fall out of rhythm. The Heat have lost Home Court advantage this series, but can quickly regain it with a win in Chicago. The Bulls will present a bigger challenge than the Bucks did to the Heat, but I do not see this series going that far.
I am taking our Miami Heat in 5 games. Lebron did celebrate his 4th MVP and a well-deserved one. Lebron was one vote shy of becoming the first player in NBA history to win the award by unanimous decision that went to Carmelo Anthony. Although the Heat are down 0-1 at the moment, it only took this one loss to get this freight train back on its tracks. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights from Game 1. (more…)

Well Miami Heat fans, as our record-breaking season has come to an end, our Miami Heat has already gotten down to brass tacks in taking out the Milwaukee Bucks 110 – 87 in Game 1 of the First Round of the East Playoffs! The Heat wasted no time in getting into playoff form. Winning has become the new DNA strand in Miami Heat basketball. The 23-point win marked a complete team effort by Miami which saw its bench contibute 43-points total that included 20-points from Ray Allen and 10-points and 7 rebounds from Chris “Birdman” Andersen. The game was again orchestrated by Lebron James who had an incredibly efficient 9-11 shooting night to still come out for 27-points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assist shy of a triple-double with 8. “That’s about as efficient as you can get. Made that look easier than it was,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said after the game. (more…)

A complete and utter LIE! A spectacular display of deception! FIU Theatre’s cast of The Liar entertains from opening to closing act. Adapted from the original play by Pierre Corneille and written by David Ives, The Liar is an urban comedy about a young man named Dorante (Danny Leonard) who arrives to Paris with one minor imperfection, he cannot tell the truth. Upon arriving, Dorante meets Cliton (Julio Liverpool), a manservant who cannot lie, and travels with him through a series of dishonest encounters.
The play features a cleverly selected cast of actors and actresses that harmoniously bring the characters to life right before your eyes. Danny Leonard ingeniously enlivens the role of Dorante, and turns a sword fight into a monologue. Zach Myers owns the role of Alcippe with his boisterous voice and command of the stage. Lucille Cocco and Mariana Vallejo both dazzle as they play Clarice and Lucrece; the love interests of Dorante and Alcippe. (more…)

What’s up Miami Heat fans?!? I don’t know about you all, but I am ready for another slam-dunk season to another Championship this year! Although it has been a short summer for us Heat fans because we took home the grand prize, it has also has been a long summer for us waiting for it to start all over again. Let’s take a brief look at what our Heat are working with this year!
For the most part, our Miami Heat are bringing back its main core in of course, Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. Mike Miller contemplated retirement due to his back issues, but he is recovered and will be back for more. I believe this year we will see the Mike Miller Pat Riley envisioned to have for this team.
James Jones also contemplated retirement but said, “Naaaah!” Every player should feel what a Championship-defense season feels like. Udonis Haslem, Joel Anthony, Shane Battier (who was terrific during the Finals), Mario Chalmers (who earned the respect of many last year, including me), Norris Cole, and Dexter Pittman will all be back on the roster opening day October 30th against the Boston Celtics. Giovanni’s Cafe is a combo Peruvian-Italian restaurant delivering a wide variety of dishes and entrées native to both countries. Giovanni’s Cafe is located in an area that one has to be familiar with. The location of the restaurant is not where you would traditionally find a typical restaurant like an urban high-traffic area, but rather in a professional development of business offices.
This place does not need advertising as most people who know about Giovanni’s Cafe are referred by word of mouth. This describes the level of service and quality offered by Giovanni’s Cafe. If you end up visiting this place, you’ll see why we call this place,”A Local Hidden Gem!”
If you are a seafood fan, start yourself off with one of their flavorful Ceviches. They have an array of Ceviches like the Fried Seafood Mix, Mixed Ceviche, Fish ‘n Shrimp Ceviche, and the traditional Fish Ceviche. Try the Fish ‘n Shrimp Ceviche! Spicy, if you like it picante! (more…)
Being South Florida natives, we have had the opportunity like many to have some great Cuban food. Every city has what we like to call “A Local Gem.” We’ve been to this one specific Cuban restaurant countless times because we can’t get enough of them when we are craving Cuban food. This place is called Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine!
Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine has been serving the South Florida area since 1984 by the Vilariño family. The Vilariño family opened its first Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine in Hollywood, FL which shortly became a local favorite! This place is great for a date, take the family to, and even just to call them to place an order and pick it up to take home! The service is (more…)
Technology is one of the drivers of our economy and has expanded it into a global marketplace. We now conduct business on a worldwide level because of some of the inventions people have come up with during the past 30 years. The internet primarily being one of the main driving forces behind it. I am always fascinated by new technology. (more…)

Nobody said the Oklahoma City Thunder was going to be a walk in the park. The Miami Heat stole a home game from the Thunder and now head back to Miami for Games 3, 4 , and 5. Now that the Miami Heat have home court advantage, this give them an opportunity to finish the series off at home. Game 1 was something to forget about. The Miami Heat lost and there is pretty much nothing to talk about. If we want to pick apart what could’ve happened, we could then start at how the Miami Heat blew a 13 point lead and lost. (more…)
Well, Heat fans, your Miami Heat have won the 2012 Eastern Conference Champion for the second year in a row! The Heat are set to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder this Tuesday June 12 at 9:00pm EST. The Thunder will be bringing in Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and Serge Ibaka to the NBA’s biggest stage and try to stop Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh on getting their first championship since they came together. This is going to be a battle that might turn out to be one of the most exciting Finals the NBA has ever seen! (more…)
This Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics series is going to go down as one of those series that the people at Sun Sports do not stop talking about. If you are a Miami Heat fan and fan of the Sun Sports network, you know what I am talking about. This series has been a thrill ride and this Saturday June 9th is the grand finale we have all been waiting for.
Game 6 was special. A special game that hopefully makes Miami Heat fans acknowledge and admire what we truly have down here playing basketball for the Miami Heat. We have greatness. Greatness the NBA has not seen in a very long time. We have Lebron James. Lebron James is an (more…)
The past three games have been a thrill ride if you are a Miami Heat fan. This series is one for the classic reels. The Miami Heat have had their shares of ups and downs in this series and most downs have come in Boston. Boston has done exactly what they are supposed to do.
Boston has protected their home court just like an experienced veteran team should. Now, a “Best of Seven” series has turned into a “Best of Three” series. The Miami Heat head back to Miami for a must-win Game 5 and try and close this out in Boston in Game 6. Game 2 of this series was labeled an instant classic where we watched Rajon Rondo (more…)
One game down and three more to go in these Eastern Conference Finals Miami Heat fans! The Miami Heat have taken a 1-0 series lead against the Boston Celtics after a 93-79 win at the American Airlines Arena. Miami seems to be clicking at the right time just like they did in last year’s playoffs. If this is going to be a continuing trend in Miami, we’ll take it!
Miami never trailed in this game. We saw a Boston Celtics group come out unmotivated and with absolutely no energy whatsoever. The Celtics did manage to keep the game within 10 points through the first half of the game. The Celtics emerged (more…)
The Miami Heat will once again contend in the Eastern Conference Finals Heat fans! Our Miami Heat has eliminated those pesky Indian Pacers in a 105 – 93 win and closing the series 4 – 2! Even in the absence of our enforcer Udonis Haslem who was suspended for this game and our missing piece of the Big 3 Chris Bosh, the Heat gang knew it was time to finish this series and rest up for what’s next!
The two-punch combo of Lebron James and Dwyane Wade let the NBA know who is coming back for a second taste of the NBA Finals. The Miami Heat have positioned themselves to face either the Boston Celtics or Philadelphia 76ers. Regardless of who the Miami Heat play, their road back to the NBA Finals looks pretty much guaranteed.
Dwyane Wade had a spectacular performance as Lebron had the other night. Wade scored 41 points along with 10 rebounds and three assists. Lebron finished (more…)

If this was not a statement and retaliatory game for the Miami Heat, I don’t know what it could have been. This game was filled with highlight moments from the tip in which we saw numerous dunks, layups, and flagrant hard fouls. Seems like Indiana actually thought they could handle the Heat!
The Miami Heat shot an astounding 61% from the field and not once looked back to see how the Indiana Pacers were doing. They just kept playing. Eleven dunks and numerous layups had Pacers coach Frank Vogel looking for answers where he could not find them. Frank? Stop looking for answers. There are no answers to the Heat in transition. Plain and simple. “We learned early in this series, you don’t get two wins for a blowout,” Vogel said during a post-game interview. I don’t think Frank (more…)
After a 19 point loss in Game 3 of these Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, Dwyane Wade knew he had to make up for it. We all saw a horrific shooting display that was titled “The Worst Dwyane Wade Playoff Performance” when he shot 2 of 13 for 5 points. Made up for it? Wade scored 30 points, 22 of them came in the second half of the game to tie the series up at two games apiece.
The absence of Chris Bosh has taken a couple of games to get accustomed to. It could not have come at a better time. Wade started the game as he did in Game 3 by missing close range shots and not getting to the rim. The Pacers jumped out to a 9 – 0 lead in the introductory minutes of the game which called for an immediate Erik Spoelstra timeout. Slowly but surely, Wade (more…)
The NBA awarded Lebron James of the Miami Heat his third NBA MVP trophy in four years and became the 8th player in the history of the NBA to win the award 3 times or more. The Miami Heat went on to beat the Indiana Pacers 95 – 86 in Game 1 while they continue waiting to hear on Chris Bosh’s return.
In Game 1, the Miami Heat lost Chris Bosh for possibly the remainder of this series with an abdominal strain suffered on a dunk while being guarded by Roy Hibbert in the first half of Game 1. Chris Bosh took a pass from Lebron James near the foul line, took one dribble for the hard dunk with his left hand, and collapsed to the floor. In the replays it shows Hibbert slightly affecting his shot but it was nothing flagrant or intentional. It was just a regulate basketball play where we saw Chris Bosh maneuver awkwardly for the dunk. Beach weather has finally arrived to beautiful South Florida. This means bathing suits, drinks, and fun with your friends. But what about your SPF protection? Do you know what SPF stands for, or how to choose the right SPF protection for you?
SPF in an acronym for Sun Protection Factor. The SPF number tells you how long you can stay in the sun before getting burned. If you normally start to burn after 15 minutes of sun exposure, an SPF 15 product will let you stay in the sun for approximately 15 times longer (or 3 1/2 hours) without burning. SPF sunscreen numbers indicate (more…)
The New Yorks Knicks came through and fought through all of the adversity surrounding the team to pull out a stunning win over the Miami Heat who are now 3-1. The series shifts back to Miami on Wednesday May 9th while the Heat seek to close this one out on their home floor in front of their fans. The game was a complete thrill-ride from start to finish and even more-so the fourth quarter.
Carmelo Anthony had a spectacular game as he helped the Knicks end an 11-year and 13-game playoff drought in New York. The last time the Knicks won a playoff game was on April 29, 2001. Carmelo Anthony put up an amazing 41 point, 6 rebound, and 4 assist performance on a game that went down to the wire.
Amare Stoudemire was back for Game 4 just like he said he would be and put up decent numbers despite that massive cut he sustained right after Game 2. Amare had a 20 point and 10 rebound game which was quite impressive after the picture he tweeted of his hand. Amare’s hand (more…)
The saying goes, “the series doesn’t start until the home team loses.” Well, it’s official Miami Heat fans, the series has finally begun and soon about to end for the New York Knicks. The New York Knicks are on the brink of elimination in these East Quarter Finals.
Lebron James spent most of the night in foul trouble as he finished the game with 5 fouls, but that didn’t stop him from putting up his usual numbers. Lebron was outstanding despite the foul trouble and scored 17 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter. Eight of those points came on consecutive baskets at the beginning of the period. “Bron came in and got at it right away. He had an unbelievable fourth quarter,” Dwyane Wade said after the game. Lebron James finished the game with 32 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assist, and 2 steals. He also finished with 8 turnovers, but that didn’t matter, Lebron’s fourth quarter explosion made up for it. “He just has to stay with it. He had some turnovers, he had some mistakes, but he was able to keep his head in it,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra stated during a post-game interview.
One player that has been impressing me (more…)
Alright, I’m not even going to get into the game against the Wizards. For what? It was a pointless irrelevant game that didn’t change anything in the standings as to who we are going to play in the first round of the playoffs. In a nutshell, the Miami Heat got smoked by 34 points by the Washington Wizards. WHO CARES!?! The Heat rested the Big 3 once again while the rest of the team played extended minutes to get into playoff mode. (more…)
In a game that did not feature the Miami Heat’s Big 3 and the Boston Celtics Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, this was a game that saw the Heat turn the ball over 24 times and shoot for 38 percent from the field. Paul Pierce took the floor as the only one of the Celtics’ Big 3 while the Heat rested theirs. Much deserved rest for Lebron, Wade, and Bosh.
After a compacted season that has had them play several back-to-back games and even a few back-to-back-to-backs, they can use all the rest they can get. (more…)
I want to thank the Big Mouth Girlz for asking me to contribute to their blog! The Big Mouth Girlz are BIG Miami Heat fans and have reached out to me being a BIGGER fan. I’m a Miami native and I have been following the Heat for quite some time now. I will cover the last couple of Heat games and their run into the 2012 NBA Playoffs! (more…)
