MDPL: A Walk Down Memory Lane – South Beach Photos from the Late 1970’s to Early 1980’s – May 3rd thru August 28th

In the late 1970s, three friends who were photography students at Florida International University (FIU), came to South Beach regularly for several years to practice their photography skills. The photos in this exhibit represent a sample of their work capturing a bygone era in South Beach’s history.

Artists: Susan Jordan, Sereta Russell and Nancy Rohan

Entry in to the Museum and Lecture is $5 (free for students, teachers and Miami Beach residents). The Art Deco Museum and the Exhibit is open daily from January 6 – April 30, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily (Thursday’s open until 7:00 p.m.).

2016 Fort Lauderdale Fringe Festival – May 5th thru 7th

Hosted by Broward College, South Florida’s first and only uncensored, unjuried, live theater event, Fort Lauderdale Fringe Festival returns on May 5th through 7th, 2016 for the second consecutive year. The festival will feature original, cutting-edge performances by worldly artists like Terri Giannoutsos, Armando Santana, Roth Barsanti, and Sandra Portal-Andreu. Plus live performances, a free and open to the public street fair featuring local vendors, food trucks, and family-friendly activities.
