Classical Music meets Modern Dance

Karen Peterson and Dancers is a non-profit organization that dedicates itself to entertain through performances of mixed ability dance by artists with and without disabilities. Karen’s most recent performance at Pinecrest Gardens’ Banyan Bowl Amphitheatre, “Classical Music meets Modern Dance” can be described as an emotionally, captivating performance exhibited to the sounds of the Miami String Project and the Cross Town String Quartet. The Miami String Project is a group of string players ranging from 12-18 years old and together form Miami’s premiere youth chamber orchestra. The Miami String Project musical experience brings life through sounds. The Cross Town String Quartet extends their talents throughout many genres of music only to be experienced live. This fine collaboration of these three groups provided artistic combinations of dance segments to symphonies by Benjamin Britten, Astor Piazzola, Edvard Grieg, Antonio Vivaldi, and Shawn Muller. “Classical Music meets Modern Dance” was an instant hit!
