2016 Coconut Grove Seafood Festival

If you are a seafood fanatic, like myself, and attended the Coconut Grove Seafood Festival that was held at the Miami Marine Stadium…you were in seafood heaven! This seafood affair was advertised as come “rain or shine,” and that clause was put to the test as the South Florida’s wind and rain crashed the party but not the spirits (and long lines) of seafood lovers.

Patrons enjoyed the bay view and breeze, while moving to the Caribbean vibes of the Bootleg Rock Band on The Sound Stage. The Echo Discovery Zone in partnership with the Celebration of the Sea Foundation was designated for kiddies under 12 (who were admitted into the festival for FREE) to enjoy free rides, face painting, and more.

The countless vendors preparing seafood, served up huge lobsters cooked every way imaginable, as well as crabs, seafood paella, shrimp, and raw oysters to name a few. The “Kitchen Lab” was also available to offer a close look at how some of the best chef’s in South Florida prepare their favorite seafood dishes.

This year, the event proceeds went towards Celebration of the Sea Foundation, a South Florida-based organization that has continued to produce a wide variety of entertaining and engaging educational programs for children and families with a specific focus on the world’s oceans and marine habitats.

This family event was the perfect way to enjoy and experience seafood at its best. I can’t wait to partner up with BigMouthGirlz again to attend next year’s event!
