The stage adaptation of the 1994 Academy Award-winning Disney classic brings to life the film and the characters we all adore. The Lion King is the story of a young lion prince named Simba who was born into the prosperous African Pride Lands of his royal parents, faces a tragedy when his father Mufasa is murdered by his evil uncle Scar. Scar convinces Simba that the death of his father was his fault and tells him to never return to the Pride Lands, leaving Scar heir to the king’s throne. As Simba runs from his past, he becomes friends with a meerkat and warthog as he begins his new life. Simba later reunites with longtime friend Nala, who persuades Simba to return to the Pride Lands and take on his uncle to fulfill his destiny as the king of the Pride Lands.
