We recently attended a convention that required us to travel to Northern Florida. We searched the internet for the best deals in the surrounding areas of St. Augustine, FL to spend our time during our 3-day stay. We found something really nice and reasonably priced at the Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village Resort by Marriot Hotels.
After reading the reviews and viewing the location’s photos online, we booked our stay. Online, we requested a room with a balcony on a high floor. Upon booking the reservation, we called the hotel directly to confirm our requests. Unfortunately, we were told by the receptionist that our requests could not be guaranteed.
Disillusioned by our reservation, we immediately cancelled our reservation and began searching for another establishment that would accommodate our requests. Within minutes, we received an e-mail from the Guest Services Assistant Manager confirming our cancellation. We confirmed our cancellation and stated it was because we could not be guaranteed a room with a balcony on a high floor.
After the e-mail exchange, the Guest Services Assistant Manager replied that she would certainly be able to guarantee us the room with a balcony on a high floor if that would complete our stay. We delightedly reinstated our reservation and rested assured that we would have our requests met.
Now this is what we call first class customer service. A simple request fulfilled made all the difference. Granted, we understand that if something is not available it cannot be guaranteed, but, in this case it was.
We highly commend the Guest Services Assistant Manager for reaching out to us and going out of her way to satisfy our requests to complete our stay during our time in St. Augustine.
Throughout our stay, we enjoyed the array of amenities and recreation areas the establishment has to offer like the gym, game room, walking and jogging trails, swimming pool, hot tub, on-site IMAX Theater, and an insanely beautiful and luxurious spa. This spa was something else. It was a 9,500 square foot structure that includes 11 Treatment Rooms with a Couple’s Retreat, Beauty Salon with Hair, Manicure and Pedicure Stations, Women’s and Men’s Private Waiting Rooms, Showers and Steam Room, Jacuzzi, a Circular Relaxation Lounge with a Soothing Rain Shower feature, an Outdoor Garden with a Koi Pond, Floating Cabana Treatment Rooms, and a staff so attentive and caring that you’ll think you’ve become royalty. The resort also features two championship golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Sammy Snead, and Gene Sarazen.
A four star rating is an understatement for the Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village Resort. We give it five stars! Thanks Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village Resort for an immaculate experience!
