Leukemia and Lymphoma Society: Team In Training Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend

Join our friend, Carla Huaylla with other “Teams” in Training and change your life by changing the lives of blood cancer patients. Be a part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society TNT magic for the Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna®, January 6 – 10, 2016!

Carla Huaylla’s niece, Hannah, was diagnosed with Leukemia when she was 9 months old. She underwent treatment for a year, and now 10 years later is considered a survivor!

“Hannah was born a beautiful little girl that happened to be premature which lead her to heart problems. We already knew she was going to have Down Syndrome before she arrived to this world, but it did not matter. We loved her all the same, and even more because she was and is our little angel forever. When Hannah was 9 months old, she went in for a regular check up and the doctors discovered she had Leukemia. She went through several treatments for a whole year. The year in the hospital was a nightmare, especially for Hannah’s mum Naomi. She had to juggle a sick child and a healthy and very active boy. Hannah is now 11, going on 25, and is considered a Survivor! She behaves like any 11 year old, loves to sing and dance, and is the friendliest tween in the world. Sure, she has her moments, like any other growing child, but to us, she is our champion. She brings a smile to our faces every time we get to see her. I am running this for her. If my toddler niece was able to beat Leukemia, I can run a marathon!” unnamed
