Deerfield Beach, FL prepares itself for its 23rd Annual Florida Renaissance Festival taking place at Deerfield Beach’s Quiet Waters Park. This year the festival features two new themed weekends that will add to the excitement of the festival that includes Journey to the Orient and Dragons & Wizards & Thrones, Oh My!
As more than two million people have experienced this yearly event, festival-goers continue to make their way down to South Florida from all-over for this anticipated event that features more than 100 costumed performers, 10 stages with continuous entertainment, and 20 stage acts from all over the globe.
The introduction of the festival’s themed weekend will immerse patrons of the festival with a Swashbucklers & Sirens Weekend on February 7th and 8th in which the township will be swarming with rascals and unfriendly scoundrels during this Pirate-themed weekend. The Time Traveler’s weekend taking place February 14-16, will take us back in time and across different time periods to experience eras of aliens, federations, empires, and traveling pioneers. The Wenches Weekend of Bodacious Bodices happens February 21st and 22nd where bad girls spoil themselves with stylish clothing that covers them from their neck to their waists. This is definitely a fun weekend for the ladies, and for the men.
On February 28th – March 1st, take an exclusive Voyage to the Orient all the way to the Far East. Experience the rich culture of Marco Polo’s time, and live through the visuals of Shogun, Samurai, and the unbroken Ming dynasty that ruled China for almost 300 years. On March 7th – 8th, enter the festival filled with Hobbits, Wizards, Dragons, White Walkers, Fairies and Elves during the Dragons & Wizards and Thrones, Oh My! weekend. Lastly, what is the Florida Renaissance Festival without celebrating the Scottish, Irish, and Celtic traditions of the North Sea?!? During St. Patrick’s Day Weekend on March 15th and 16th, grab your Kilts and Colleens and celebrate the rich culture of Celtic Pride!
The Florida Renaissance Festival will be open weekends beginning February 7th from 10 a.m. to sunset (including, Monday February 16th, President’s Day) until March 15th. Prices range from $21.00 for adults and $9.00 for children ages 6 to 11 years of age. Children 5 and younger are free. Special seasonal passes are available for $65 and group ticket rates are also offered.
